Community Support NASSCO’s success as the largest manufacturing employer in San Diego has been built on the hard work and sacrifice of generations of shipbuilders. As a company, NASSCO continues this tradition of giving through its contributions to a wide variety of community organizations and causes. Each year, NASSCO makes philanthropic donations to local community groups, schools, service and civic organizations. These opportunities allow NASSCO to fund programs and projects that benefit our neighbors at large. NASSCO support is generally given to the following types of community requests: Civic, community (principally Barrio Logan), maritime and military affairs activities Education, Arts and Cultural enrichment Health and Human Service to others NASSCO does not provide funds for: Individuals or private foundations Organizations that re-grant to other groups or causes Organizations primarily affiliated with and principally supported by a church / faith group Sports teams,programs or events, except for those that are broadly promoted, available to anyone or create widespread interest and promotion of our community Educational tuition Government entities, other than schools Requests can be submitted to: Communications Department General Dynamics NASSCO P.O.
