Return to main T-AKE Gallery - USNS Lewis and Clark page.

The stern of the T-AKE 1, to be named the Lewis and Clark, begins to take shape on NASSCO's building ways. The ship's power train will feature twin synchronous Alstom propulsion motors driving a single fixed-pitch propeller, and will achieve a speed of 20 knots at design draft and 80% propulsion.
