NASSCO is the largest and most qualified shipyard on the West Coast of the United States, capable of servicing or repairing any ocean-going vessel. Because of our location, expertise and full-service capabilities, the Navy relies on NASSCO as a repair facility for its Pacific Fleet ships. NASSCO is a Master Ship Repair contractor for the U.S. Navy and the Military Sealift Command (MSC). The Navy has selected NASSCO to be the single prime contractor for continuous maintenance of all amphibious classes of ships home-ported on the West Coast. Long-term contracts have been awarded to the company to provide maintenance and repair services on five LHA-class and LHD-class ships and eight LSD-41/49-class ships and LPD-4-class ships for the U.S. Navy. NASSCO's repair experience encompasses virtually all classes of Navy and MSC ships and includes major structural and piping modifications, machinery repairs and alterations, combat systems and electronics upgrades, ship conversions and emergency repairs.
